Punctures

A legal puncture repair where you stand

A screw in the centre of the tread is often a repair, not a new tyre. We inspect, tell you if British Standard repair rules allow it, and plug and patch at the car when they do. Sidewall, shoulder, or a previous botch — that is a replacement conversation.

On the job

Usual questions

Can every puncture be repaired?

No. Tread-area holes within size limits, yes. Sidewall, shoulder, run-flat damage, or a tyre already under the wear limit — we replace or we recover. We say which.

Will it hold on the motorway?

A proper repair is a plug and patch from the inside, not a string from a garage forecourt. If we cannot do that job at the kerb, we tell you.

How long does it take?

A straightforward tread repair is a short stop once we are with the car. Access, wheel nuts and weather can stretch it. You get a time when we book.
