AL7 service area
East of the railway, Welwyn Garden City becomes a different town. AL7 is the working and living half: the neighbourhoods, the hospital, the office campus and the industrial edge.
Shire Park pulls a lot of commuter traffic into a small number of car parks, and QEII Hospital does the same around the clock. Both are places where a car sits for eight hours and the driver comes back to a wheel sitting on its rim. That is a repair job more often than a replacement one, and we would rather repair it properly than sell rubber that is not needed.
Haldens, Panshanger and Woodhall are 1950s and 60s estate layouts — cul-de-sacs, garage courts, and communal parking bays where nobody quite owns the tarmac. Give us a house number and we will find you.
Hatfield Hyde and Hall Grove sit on the boundary with the Hatfield ground, and we usually run the two districts together.

Repair before replacement
A puncture in the repairable zone gets a combined stem-and-patch unit fitted from the inside, with the tyre off the rim so the inner liner can be inspected. An external plug pushed in through the tread without removing the tyre is not a permanent repair and we do not do them.
AL7: give us the road and the tyre size
Call and tell us where the vehicle is standing and what is on the sidewall. If the size has gone with the tyre, the make, model and year will do. We confirm what we are bringing before the van moves.
