SG13 service area
SG13 is the district that joins our home ground to Hertford, and the western half of it is closer to base than most of Hertfordshire realises.
Newgate Street, Epping Green, Little Berkhamsted, Bayford and Brickendon are a continuous run of lanes east of Cuffley. They climb and drop constantly, the surface is patched rather than resurfaced, and the potholes reopen every winter in the same places. Pothole damage here is rim damage as often as tyre damage.
Hertford Heath and Little Amwell sit on the B1197 above the town, on a proper hill. Balls Park and Foxholes are the built edge of Hertford itself, and Foxholes is office and business traffic — cars parked all day, discovered flat at five o'clock.
Half this district is close band and half is middle distance, so it is worth telling us the village rather than the district when you call.

After a pothole
The tyre may hold air and the wheel may still look round. What to check is whether the steering pulls, whether there is a new vibration above 50, and whether that wheel now needs topping up. Any of the three means the rim took the hit. We can look at it where the car is parked.
