EN11 service area

Hoddesdon is the far end of the Lee Valley run for us, and we treat it as a planned job rather than a doorstep one.

The town has a compact centre with a market and a hill, and a large working edge along Pindar Road — units, hauliers, and trade counters. Commercial tyre work here is mostly light truck and van, and it is nearly always pressure-related: a twin rear that has been running down for a fortnight because nobody can see it.

Out toward Rye House the ground flattens into the valley proper. The kart raceway pulls in trailers and transporters, and Dobbs Weir is a lane along the water with a gravelled edge that eats sidewalls in the dark.

Everything in EN11 is middle distance. That does not mean we do not come; it means we tell you honestly where the van is starting from.

Twin rear wheels

On a twin-wheel rear axle the inner tyre can be flat while the vehicle still drives and steers normally. The outer one then carries double the load and fails without warning. If a light truck has been sitting for a while, have both checked before it goes out loaded.

EN11: give us the road and the tyre size

Call and tell us where the vehicle is standing and what is on the sidewall. If the size has gone with the tyre, the make, model and year will do. We confirm what we are bringing before the van moves.
