EN10 service area

The A1170 High Road threads the whole of EN10 from Turnford up to Broxbourne, running alongside the A10 without ever quite joining it. Local traffic uses one, through traffic uses the other, and the two rarely mix.

Broxbourne station car park and the New River path bring a steady flow of parked cars that sit all day, which is where slow punctures reveal themselves. Wormley and Turnford are ribbon development along the High Road — narrow, parked both sides, and awkward for anything that needs the van door open on the offside.

West of the A10 the ground rises into Wormley West End and White Stubbs Lane. That is genuine lane driving, and it carries visitor traffic to the zoo at weekends, much of it in loaded family cars on tyres nobody has checked since the summer.

This is the middle distance rather than the doorstep, and we will say so on the call.

Before a long drive with a full car

A loaded car needs more pressure than an empty one, and the figure for a full load is on the door pillar or in the handbook — usually a few PSI above the everyday number. Under-inflating a heavy car is the single most common reason a tyre fails on the way home rather than on the way out.

EN10: give us the road and the tyre size

Call and tell us where the vehicle is standing and what is on the sidewall. If the size has gone with the tyre, the make, model and year will do. We confirm what we are bringing before the van moves.
