SG12 service area
Seventeen places, one river and a trunk road that has been the main route north since it was a Roman one.
Ware itself is compact and busy, with the High Street pinched between the Lea and the railway and the Marsh Lane units on the eastern edge. The A10 runs past rather than through, and Wadesmill and Thundridge sit right on it, which means fast failures — a blow-out on the A10 dual carriageway is not the same job as a flat on a village street and we do not treat it as one.
East of Ware the lanes take over. Hunsdon, Widford, Wareside and Babbs Green are B-road and single-track country with high hedges and farm traffic dragging mud and stone onto the surface for half the year.
Everything in SG12 is middle distance from Potters Bar. It is a run we make regularly, but it is a run.

A blow-out on a dual carriageway
Do not brake hard and do not fight the wheel. Ease off, hold the steering straight, and let the vehicle slow itself before you move left. Once stopped, get everyone out of the offside doors and behind a barrier or up the bank. Then call, and give us the direction of travel as well as the location — the two carriageways are separate jobs.
