Fore Street is the old road north and it still does the job — buses, deliveries, shops and a market, all on a carriageway that was never widened for any of it.
Edmonton Green shopping centre and its car park sit at the heart of the district and generate a steady flow of calls. A car that has been in there for two hours and comes out sitting low on one corner is a common start to a conversation.
East of the district the ground opens toward the Lee Valley. Picketts Lock Lane and the athletics centre bring a different mix — minibuses, club transport and cars loaded with kit, all of which run heavier than the driver assumes and are usually under-inflated for the weight.
N9 is middle distance for us, reached down the A10 or the A1010.

A loaded vehicle needs more pressure
Minibuses and people carriers running full need the laden pressure, not the everyday one, and on many vehicles that is a difference of 6 to 10 PSI on the rear axle. Running the light figure with eight people and their bags in it is how a rear tyre overheats on a motorway.
